A Bajillion Butchered Beans In 2020

We've put 2020 to bed and moved into 2021. BUT before we jump into the new year with both feet, let's take a moment to reflect on the year that was 2020.

We celebrated a year of milestones, including a record TWO BILLION BEANS butchered for burgers, sausages, bacon, steaks, roasts and other vegan meats– a total of approximately 27,462 kilograms (60,543 pounds) of beans.

With a handful of beans and a whole lot of veggies, our Bean Butchers made over 300,000 Very Good Burgers in 2020 (& many other Very Good meats).

A little about The Very Good Burger, it was one of the first plant-based creations that James put together when starting The Very Good Butchers. If you know our story, you know that James and Mitchell (our co-founders) met at a family BBQ and bonded over this particular burger.

Now, what goes into the burger to make it Very Good? An onion here, a mushroom there, and a lot of other veg (see the breakdown below) to make it a customer favourite.

Join us in celebrating nearly a bajillion butchered beans for 2020 and the Very Very Very Good Burger (that's what we hear people are callin' it, and we won't argue).

Be sure to share your Very Good Burger with us using #TheVeryGoodButchers and tagging @theverygoodbutchers.

  • Those burgers look delicious! I hope VGB makes a deal also with a restaurant chain that can provide delivery. That will surely expand the product beyond the grocery.

  • I am severely allergic to mushrooms. Are there any products of yours that do not contain mushrooms?
