I have been looking for a plant-based alternative to sausages for some time. My issue with most meat substitutes is the lack of a bit of texture, a bit of chew. The bangers taste good and could be a great breakfast addition, but they lack texture like all the other brands I have tried. Maybe a few ground walnuts would fix that?
A Very British Banger
These ‘Bangers’ definitely delivered a very good alternative to the real thing. I patiently heated them in a skillet with olive oil for 5 minutes on 1/3 heat setting before adding spinach. Cooking for another couple of minutes before adding an egg (easy over). So, say 10 minutes and the banger had a grilled colour all around. Serve. Perfect start to the day.
This product has a nice consistency and the flavour is pretty good. i used in a jambalaya and it worked well. I like that it doesn't rely on a lot of salt for flavour as do most faux 'meats' on the market.
